CALLOUT 25/11/2016 The team were called out at approximately 1730hrs this evening to assist two walkers and their dog who had become crag-fast due to treacherous icy conditions and failing light whilst descending Cioch na h'Oighe. Thankfully communications were established via mobile phone between the walkers and the team enabling the team to pinpoint the walkers lights on the ridge from Glen Sannox. The team split into two teams with the first team heading up in the Argo catto reach the walkers quickly and the rest of the team on foot from the track at Glen Sannox. The walkers were located on some very steep icy ground and it involved a technical rescue to lower them to safety. Although cold, both walkers and their dog were thankfully uninjured and were able to walk of the hill with the team.
The team would like to advise anyone heading up the Arran mountains at the moment to take extra care as the paths, including lower paths, are very icy in places.
