Callout 12/07/2016

July 13, 2016

The team were called out at approximately 1945 this evening to assist Police Scotland in the search for a missing 60 year old male walker who had separated from his group and become lost walking in the Northern Hills.
The male walker had decided to stop and wait where he was whilst the rest of his group went on over Caisteal Abhail but when one of the group returned to get him he had vanished from his last known location.
Team members split into groups to start searching all possible exit points.
Luckily the Police helicopter was also on hand to assist and spotted a possible casualty in Gleann Easan Biorach just below Loch na Davie.
Team members made their way to the location and after it was confirmed that it was the missing male, he was airlifted to safety.
Although getting cold the casualty was thankfully unharmed.
AMRT would like to advise anyone venturing up the hills to make sure they are properly equipped and have sturdy footwear to withstand the distance they are aiming to cover.
