Navigation/ Satmap training - December 2013

December 5, 2013

Recently the team has purchased a few new Satmap GPS systems to help aid with navigation.

Today team members set off from the top the string road and with a briefing on the basics of the Satmap system, searched a large area of ground for plotted containers similar to that of a geocache.

Each small team were given a list of grid references all in different orders and the aim was to find all the containers and retrieve a letter from each.

After 10 miles or so, all the letters had been gathered and experience had been gained in using the new Satmap systems.

The weather held out all afternoon for us and the views were stunning.
