Winter skills - April 2013

April 6, 2013

Yesterday morning the team set off up North glen Sannox to traverse the ridge between Caisteal abhail and Ceum na Caillich.

A great day was had going over various winter skills which included crampon and ice axe use and some lowering techniques on steep ground.

The conditions of the Arran mountains at the moment are still very much in winter and various areas we came across yesterday were packed with snow and boasting some fairly large cornices.

A nice days training, taking in spectacular views and making our way safely over the ridge.
