BASP training weekend

March 3, 2013

The AMRT took part in a BASP two day first aid course on the 2nd and 3rd of March.

The course is a mandatory part of every team members training program and must be refreshed and kept up to date every three years.

On the first day of the course team members were assessed on basic life support and skills refreshed on the use of a defibrillator - casualty care and essential skills needed for us to work together in a real life emergency situation.

The second and final day of the course involved mock rescue scenarios outdoors and putting together everything we had refreshed and learnt from the previous day.

Thanks to grant-aid - public donations and fund-raising, these types of training courses can be undertaken and the team can use these essential skills in real life rescues.
