About Us

The team is made up of men and women from all over the Island. Team members are all volunteers and give up their time freely and without pay when an emergency arises.

All Team members receive regular training in skills such as First Aid, Navigation, Ropework, Helicopter familiarisation. This is achieved via a combination of formal courses, workshops at the Team Base and planned exercises out on the hills and mountains.

The running of the team is overseen by an elected committee who share the responsibility of managing the team. Elected members cover areas such as training, purchasing/evaluation and replacement of equipment, administration and fundraising.

New team members initially serve a twelve month probationary period after which they are assessed and become full team members
